charectorization

                                                                         Spencer

Spencer Carlin a girl who moved from the show south of nowhere.
She plays a straight girl who moves from a little town to a big city.
She is very sure of herself and her family. Her confidence is high.
She is the smart, quiet, and smart girl. As the show goes on she starts
to make a new friend called Ashley Davies. Ashley Davies is the over confident
bad ass. she likes to party and her dad is a rock star. throughout their time as friends
Spencer starts to question herself, she is less confident and even more reserved. Eventually Ashley brings her out of her shell and she learns to be proud of who she is and flaunts who she loves.
Spencer is a very forgiving person and forgives people very easily. after coning out to her family
start to push her away and try to "fix" her. Even though her family does not support her she
maintains her emotional strength.

the documentary is about a man who is voicing his opinion on the freedom of ideas and art. The authors thesis is that we should be able to express ourselves through different forms of art, such as mash ups and drawings.  he strongly believes that mash ups are a form of art and should not be illegal, that is his bias. he disagrees with the fact of big name company's suing people for downloading music off the internet for thousands of dollars instead of just charging them for the songs. the author also used the setting very well. he placed most of the documentary in clubs. showing everyone having fun with the mash up music. by placing the setting in a fun up beat place like that it makes the audience feel like its all just fun.

the author continually used rhetorical questions to ask "why not". He used them as a tool to suggest that its ok to have fun. why not use music the is mashed up to have fun? why not draw what you want? He also used rhetorical questions to ask how could someone think this isn't art.

In the documentary the author shows bias to being for the copy wright laws to be a little bit more flexible. He implies that it is wrong to sue for such ridiculous things. he mostly focuses along the lines of mash ups and occasionally talks about drawings and movies. I personally agree with him about the freedom of art through different methods without being sued for having fun.
